Ester-C 500 mg. With 200 mg Bioflavonoid Complex Per Tablet, Calcium 63 mg.
Vitamin C or Ascorbic acid is a free radical scavenger. It is considered more effective in this regard than vitamin E or beta-carotene. Ascorbic acid is essential for maintaining body tissues, especially tissue repair and collagen formation. Because humans cannot synthesize ascorbic acid endogenously, a lack of this vitamin in the diet can lead to scurvy. Vitamin C has been used for a variety of ailments including the common cold, gum infections, acne, and others.**

Evening Primrose Oil 500 mg. Cold Pressed, Hexane free
Evening primrose oil contains Gamma-linolenic acid or GLA. Linolenic acid or omega-3 essential fatty acid cannot be synthesized by the human body and thus must be ingested via the diet. At least 2 types of linolenic acids are found in the diet: Alpha and Gamma. Alpha-linolenic acid is the major omega-3 fatty acid in the diet. It is found mainly in cold water fish, canola oil, and in soy bean oil. Gamma linolenic acid is found in high concentrations in plant oils such as borage seed oil, evening primrose oil, and blackcurrant seed oil. Omega-3 fatty acids lower LDL cholesterol (bad cholesterol) and triglycerides. It is thought that GLA supplementation modifies immune response and inflammation. Thus, GLA supplementation has been studied for wide variety of disorders, including ARDS, atopic dermatitis, diabetic neuropathy, migraines, PMS, rheumatoid arthritis, and uremic pruritus. GLA is currently being studied as an adjunct to breast cancer.**

Vitamin E-400 (mixed tacopherols)
Vitamin E is a fat-soluble vitamin found in many foods including vegetable oils, wheat germ, cereal grains, fruits, green vegetables, meat, eggs, and certain types of fish. There is growing evidence that in doses higher than the RDA (Recommended Dietary Allowance), the antioxidant properties of vitamin E are clinically significant. Epidemiologic data in both men and women suggested an inverse relationship between vitamin E consomption and the risk of coronary artery disease (CAD). The CHAOS study published in 1996 showed that doses of 400 IU/day reduced the rate of non-fatal MI (Myocardial Infarction) after 1 year. Other studies have demonstrated the benefit of vitamin E in the prevention of colon cancer, Alzheimer's disease, and other conditions.**
