Black Cohosh Extract Plus 2.5% triterpene glycosides with 100 mg. Vitex &
100 mg Dong Quai.
Black Cohosh has been shown in recent European studies to have several actions on the various symptoms associated with menopause. Certain complex chemicals, especially triterpenes and flavonoids, are believed to be the active ingredients. Some of them act on the pituitary gland to suppress the secretion of luteinizing hormone (LH). High levels of LH in the blood are often associated with menopausal symptoms, including hot flashes, night sweats, headaches, heart palpitations, and drying and thinning of the vagina.**
Cyanocobalamin, or Vitamin B-12 is found in a variety of foods such as fish, shellfish, meats, and dairy products. Cyanocobalamin is used to treat pernicious anemia and vitamin B-12 deficiency. If vitamin B-12 deficiency is not treated with a vitamin B-12 supplement, then anemia, intestinal problems, and irreversible nerve damage may occur. Oral therapy is not always effective, as some persons lack intrinsic factor, an endogenous substance produced by the stomach and necessary for oral B-12 absorption. Other patients may not be able to absorb oral vitamin B-12 due to surgical removal or dysfunction of the intestines in the area where absorption of vitamin B-12 occurs. Thus, parenteral or nasal therapy may be needed.**

Borage Oil
Borage Oil owes its healing power to the presence of essential fatty acids, the most important of which is GLA, an omega-6 fatty acid. (While borage oil is often used interchangeably with evening primrose oil, ounce for ounce, borage oil boasts more than twice as much GLA). Once processed by the body, GLA is converted into hormone like substances that can either block inflammation or promote it. In borage oil, the GLA seems to calm inflammation overall, making it an attractive treatment option for arthritis and other inflammatory conditions. Researchers from the University of Pennsylvania found that high doses of borage oil (1.4 grams a day) led to a significant reduction in pain and swelling in arthritic joints when compared with cottonseed oil, which has no GLA.**
